Barossa Valley Photo Diary

Before setting off from our Adelaide accommodation we wondered if the Barossa would be a bit hectic and overrun with tourists. It wasn't. In fact, if we had one complaint from the whole trip it was that places like the Barossa are so quiet mid-week that most restaurants and cellar doors aren't even open. In the end we did manage to sniff out a few places trading in delicious wine and beautiful local food, all under brooding skies that threw the most wonderful shadows across the tawny hills and fields. Here're our favourite spots from our day in the Barossa:

1. Lyndoch Lavender Farm | Lyndoch

2. Lyndoch Lavender Farm & the quince orchard at Maggie Beer's FarmNuriootpa

3. Lyndoch Hill Winery (worth visiting for the incredible rose gardens) | Lyndoch

4. Dessert after a beautiful lunch at Seppeltsfield Winery | Seppeltsfield

5. Old grapes left on the vine

6. & 7. & 8. Hillside vistas & the olive grove at Maggie Beer's Farm | Nuriootpa
